This is an auction for the ultra-rare Daystar West edition of Rahasia listed for sale by the authors. Auction description follows.

It was a fixed-price listing for $2,950. I don’t know if it sold.

Auction text to follow.

EDIT 3/5/2019 A Daystar West Rahasia (Good condition, light wear, written name, and a colored map on page 9) sold for $1,624 after 30 bids.

“Own a piece of RPG history.  Rahasia is a rare item.  It is one of the original ‘Nightventures’ by Daystar West Media Productions. This is the RPG Tracy and Laura Hickman created that kicked-off a life of adventure almost 35 years ago.

It is copy-righted in 1979.  It is a first printing evidenced by the fact that that it has no address/contact info on the front page.  (Someone suggested getting a business PO Box, after the first few were printed, and the address was printed in copies thereafter.)  Tracy Hickman’s own illustrations grace the cover and pages of the module.

It is in nice condition, as pictured.  It is new and unused.  The adventure is  8.5” x 11” and 33 pages in length.  The tape-style spine and binding are tight.  Pages are slightly yellowed with age and are intact. Book has some light rippling. (See picture.)

We found with the module the hard-to-find 3 column ad sheet for ‘Nightventures’ and feel it should remain with it.  Also included is the impossible to get cover for the ‘Eye of the Dragon’, which was never published and was the inspiration for the Solamnic Knights in Dragonlance.  There were only 50 test copies of Tracy’s cover printed. (See picture.)

Two other versions of this game module were printed after this one when it was sold to TSR in 1981.  There was an RPGA version, red cover, in 1983 and a green cover version, B7, in 1984.

This adventure was ground-breaking in layout, intended play length and story objectives.  It has indeed been called the beginning of a revolution in role-playing.  And now it can be yours.

It is direct from the author’s collection.

The Pharaoh and Rahasia we have up for sale, individually,  (Check out my other items!) are genuinely surprising treasures.  Our daughter has been helping us sort through over 30 years worth of manuscripts and correspondence etc., because a private university approached us to acquire our papers for their special collections.  Rahasia was in a box with some of our manuscript materials and other modules that we decided to look through and organize.  It was a delight to find it.

This is the last one in our possession.

As our papers are being acquired, we feel that this item would be better appreciated and enjoyed in the hands of a collector.

Tracy and I will gladly provide letters of provenance for Rahasia certifying that it has been continuously in our possession since its production date. –L Hickman”
