Having already tangled (see what I did there? heh) with the southern vegepygmy tribe on Deck 1, the party stumbled into the northern tribe’s territory. War!

The vegepygmies were dying by the dozen, and kept coming!

Cover art unfamiliar? It’s from the hardcover Original Adventures Reincarnated #3: Expedition to The Barrier Peaks. Not clear which artist, but the full interior illustration credits go to: Tom Galambos, Doug Kovacs, Cliff Kurowski, William McAusland, Brad McDevitt, Peter Mullen, Erol Otus, Stefan Poag, Chad Sergesketter, Chris Yarborough.

Flora War II

Individual vegepygmies went down quick, but taken as a whole, were quite a handful. They kept pushing past Yebarinscrud, who bagged a number of them in passing. Willhelm Pembroke cast Fireballs, torching a score at a time.

Schirru cast Cloudkill, and the party waited in anticipation for the cloud of poisonous death to drift forward into the mob down the hallway.

Then the Phase Spiders reappeared in the back!

Willhelm danced away from a venomous bite! But Schirru got bitten twice. It was enough to break his concentration, and the Cloudkill quickly faded away.

The vegepygmies surged forward. Those trapped behind used their slings. The party was pelted with stones and small metallic parts. Most missed, but the party was getting nickeled & dimed.

The spiders were killed and driven off once again, but not before depleting Schirru. He healed himself a little, and cast Crusader’s Mantle to aid the party.

Tagren began grabbing Vegepygmies by the pair, chomping and biting!

Delmar used his Slippers of Spider Climbing to move freely in and out of the melee, sneak attacking at will.

The Mind Flayer showed up again, unsettling the party. But it seemed intent on studying the party’s fight.

Willhelm Pembroke cast Lightning Bolt down the long hallway. ZAP!

Then the cops showed up. Again.

The party could hear their distinctive warbles & beeps, and commands in an alien language.

Vegepygmies assaulted the new arrivals.

Not having been spotted by the Police Robots, the party decided to break contact and retreat.

Their illithid observer ducked out as well.

They holed up in a nearby room, and let the bots and plants duke it out.

Continued next session!

Another time the party fought a horde… of gnolls!
