All these years this game has flown under my radar. Got one in the shop, started looking it up, and there is a lot of potential beyond the standard gameplay.

Players compete for control of the eight Citadels on the fantasy world of Arklyrell. They start only with their unique leader counter, and must recruit units to amass power.

 

What intrigued me were comments I read in a couple of blogs. A Tidally-locked world? way cool.

Jeff Rients in 2011 pondered the use of the map as an RPG world.

In Places Deep blog subsequently ran with that idea.
